Operation Hiram was Israel's lightning offensive to clear the Arab Liberation Army from the Galilee. In just 60 hours, Carmeli and Golani brigades executed a double envelopment that cut off and routed Qawuqji's forces. The ALA collapsed as a fighting force. Several villages were captured along with Syrian and Lebanese territory beyond the UN partition lines. Ben-Gurion ordered Allon to halt before capturing more — under American pressure.
