Russia fought toward and through Pokrovsk over an extended campaign. Moscow claimed complete capture in December 2025 while Ukraine continued to dispute control. Independent assessment placed the city’s capture in early 2026 and noted that dispersal and rerouting had already reduced its former logistical importance.
