Tet forces enter Huế
PAVN and Viet Cong forces enter the Citadel through western gates and seize most of the old city while another wing takes much of southern Huế. Their attacks fail to eliminate two crucial footholds: the ARVN 1st Division headquarters at Mang Cá and the U.S. advisory compound south of the river.
WHAT TO NOTICESurprise captures most of Huế, but the surviving command compounds become bases for counterattack.
