Three German armies attack through the Ardennes
Under cloud and fog, Sixth Panzer Army, Fifth Panzer Army, and Seventh Army attacked a thinly held U.S. sector. The offensive sought crossings over the Meuse and ultimately Antwerp, but traffic, resistance, and demolitions immediately disrupted its timetable.
WHAT TO NOTICEThe breakthrough was broad, but its northern and southern shoulders never opened as planned.
